Call of Duty: Warzone is shutting down support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Home / News / Call of Duty: Warzone is shutting down support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Warzone will no longer be available on old consoles starting in November, and purchases on those platforms will be disabled by the end of June.

Activision has announced the end of support for Call of Duty: Warzone on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. The game will no longer be playable on those platforms starting November 2026.

The reason is the connection of Warzone to a new Call of Duty game that is coming out at the end of the year and is being developed exclusively for the current generation of consoles. This means Warzone will no longer be compatible with older consoles, namely PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Before the actual shutdown, players on those platforms will no longer be able to purchase content within Warzone starting June 25, 2026. Activision will not offer refunds for previously purchased add-ons, but those contents will still be usable on platforms where Warzone remains available.

This is yet another example of the gradual abandonment of the previous generation of consoles by major live service games, following similar decisions that have previously affected titles like PUBG: Battlegrounds and Genshin Impact.
