Without the announcement of a new title

Square Enix has announced that on July 19th, it will celebrate 30 years of the Star Ocean series, with the celebration available on the YouTube channel starting at 1 PM.

As they say, the broadcast will focus on a look back at the past, including behind-the-scenes development stories, and various other anniversary campaigns will be announced. Unfortunately, there will be no talk of a potential new title for the series. The event will be hosted by Neki Matsuzawa (Chiaki Matsuzawa) and Susumu Imadachi (Eleki Comic), and they will be joined by guests: Yuchiro Kitao (studio Gemdrops) and Megumi Komaki (Square Enix).

The first Star Ocean title appeared on the Super Famicom on July 19, 1996, and the latest title was Star Ocean: The Second Story, which was released on November 2, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Nintendo Switch.
