PlayStation 5 will receive several very interesting releases in the coming months – from the major arrival of the Halo series on Sony's console to the return of Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, and new ambitious action RPGs.

The PlayStation 5 calendar is soon becoming quite interesting, especially for players who love big returns of well-known franchises, darker atmospheres, and action RPGs with a stronger authorial signature. We have highlighted five games that we recommend acquiring, whether you are looking for a classic shooter, psychological horror, vampire RPG, an unusual action adventure, or a return of one of the most important stealth franchises.

Halo: Campaign Evolved releasing on July 28, 2026, might be the most notable name on the list, not only because it brings a remake of the campaign from the original Halo: Combat Evolved, but also because Halo is coming to PlayStation 5 for the first time seriously.

This is a modernized version of the legendary campaign with new presentation, refined controls, new missions, and support for cooperative play. For the PlayStation audience, this is an ideal opportunity to finally see why Master Chief is such an important part of gaming history.

Silent Hill: Townfall releasing on September 24, 2026, aims for a different kind of fear. Instead of a big action spectacle, the emphasis here is on psychological horror, isolation, and a disturbing atmosphere.

Townfall is a standalone story within the Silent Hill universe, which means it could be interesting even for new players who have not followed the entire series. If you are more drawn to tension, mystery, and slow-building discomfort rather than pure action, this is a title worth keeping on your radar.

The Blood of Dawnwalker releasing on September 3, 2026, comes from the studio Rebel Wolves and on paper sounds like one of the most ambitious RPGs of the year.

The game is set in a dark fantasy world inspired by 14th century Europe, and the player takes on the role of Coen, a character who is a man by day and a vampire by night. This division is supposed to be the foundation of gameplay, combat, and decision-making. If you miss more serious fantasy RPGs with moral choices, atmosphere, and consequences, The Blood of Dawnwalker could be a very pleasant surprise.

releasing on August 4, 2026, is particularly interesting because it comes from Game Freak, the studio most associated with the Pokémon franchise.

This time it is an action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic Japan, where the protagonist Emma and her dog Koo travel through a dangerous world marked by decay and monstrous threats. The combination of combat, exploration, and the relationship between the main heroine and her canine companion could set this game apart from typical action RPGs.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 2 which is coming out on August 27, 2026, is aimed at players who want to catch up or replay some of the key installments of the Metal Gear saga.

The biggest reason to get it is certainly the arrival of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on modern platforms, as this installment has long been tied to the PlayStation 3. Along with it, the collection brings Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and additional bonus content is expected to round out the package for fans of the series and anyone who wants to better understand one of the most important stealth franchises in gaming history.
