World of Tanks: HEAT is available from today, May 26, 2026, on PC and consoles. Wargaming has officially launched its new standalone free tactical shooter with vehicles, built from the ground up on its own engine.
The game is available for PC via Wargaming Game Center and Steam, Steam Deck, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and NVIDIA GeForce NOW. Cross-platform play and shared progression are supported, meaning players can continue their progress regardless of the platform they are playing on.
World of Tanks: HEAT brings faster and more arcade-like armored action compared to the classic World of Tanks, with an emphasis on agents, their roles, and experimental combat vehicles. At launch, three starting agents are available: Chopper as Defender with the M1E1 tank, Kent as Assault with the XM1 90 vehicle, and Hound as Sniper with the Leo 1A6A1 tank.
The launch of the game is accompanied by an initial season featuring five free weekly Battle Passes, five additional tanks, and a range of rewards. Remaining agents and their vehicles will be gradually unlockable through seasonal free battle passes.
At the release of World of Tanks: HEAT, there are eight agents divided into three battlefield roles: Defender, Assault, and Sniper. Each agent controls their own vehicles tailored to a specific combat style. A total of fifteen vehicles are available, which can be upgraded with modules and equipment.
Players will fight on eight maps of different biomes and visual styles, and four PvP modes are available: Stronghold, Control, Confirmed Kill, and Conquest.
“The launch of HEAT is a major milestone for us, but in many ways, this is just the beginning,” said Artjom Jantsevič, product director. “I want to thank our team, as well as our players, for helping to bring HEAT to life. We are excited about what lies ahead and can’t wait to develop HEAT together.”
On Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, the game offers a Performance Mode targeting 60 frames per second at 4K output with dynamic scaling of internal resolution up to 1080p, as well as a Quality Mode targeting 30 frames per second with higher internal resolution. Xbox Series S targets 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution, while Steam Deck offers Performance and Quality settings at 1280 × 800 resolution.
PlayStation 5 Pro receives special Performance Pro and Quality Pro modes with PSSR resolution upscaling. Performance Pro targets 60 frames per second at 4K output with dynamic scaling of internal resolution up to 1440p, while Quality Pro targets 30 frames per second and the highest visual settings available on consoles.
World of Tanks: HEAT is free to play, and more information is available on the official game website.
