Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be released on October 23, 2026, and Activision has confirmed that the campaign will be available in early access starting October 16 for players who pre-order digital editions.
Early access will be available for the Standard Digital and Vault Edition on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, while support for Nintendo Switch 2 is also expected through later open pre-order options.
The campaign returns the series to its roots and will be played offline, with the story following soldier Park, a young South Korean recruit who faces a real battlefield for the first time. The conflict soon escalates into a large invasion and global war scenario.
Captain Price also returns to the story, acting this time as an independent operator whose objectives trigger a broader conflict than he anticipated.
Developers are announcing large battles, stealth missions, and cinematic sequences, along with more diverse gameplay and an emphasis on a grounded combat experience.
