505 Games and KUNOS Simulazioni have released update 0.7 for Assetto Corsa EVO, the current Early Access version of the well-known racing simulation. This is one of the more important updates since the early access launch in January 2025, as it not only brings new cars and technical improvements but also the first official step towards user-generated content.
The most important new feature is the first release of the Assetto Corsa EVO SDK application, a tool aimed at more experienced and technically advanced members of the community. In this initial version, the SDK allows for the creation of custom vehicles for single-player races, while support for multiplayer, custom liveries, and tracks will be added in future updates. KUNOS Simulazioni is thus laying the groundwork for a longer-term expansion of the game and the development of content that will not come exclusively from the studio itself.
Update 0.7 also expands the garage with four new additions. The game welcomes the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, two variants of the Datsun 240Z, Porsche 935, and Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo Kit. The selection of new vehicles covers various parts of automotive culture, from Japanese classics to modern racing machines designed for serious competitions.
A major change also comes through EVO SR, a new Safety Rating system for the web companion Daily Racing Portal. Instead of rewarding only contact-free driving, the system is designed to recognize and reward clean close racing on the track. Drivers will progress through racing in close proximity to other cars without collisions, while incidents are assessed based on the severity of the contact. A light touch will not carry the same weight as a serious collision, and the goal is to reduce system exploitation and encourage fairer, yet more exciting racing.
The new particle system brings tire smoke, dust, water spray, and collision effects. Smoke now better follows sliding, drifting, and more aggressive corner exits, while excursions onto grass, gravel, or track edges create more convincing dust and dirt. In wet conditions, water spray is more pronounced, and collisions gain additional visual weight through new impact effects.
Along with these main features, update 0.7 includes a range of visual, gameplay, user, and quality-of-life improvements. Assetto Corsa EVO is available through Steam Early Access for a price of €39.99, and players can also purchase a special Steam bundle with the games Assetto Corsa EVO and Assetto Corsa Rally with an additional 10 percent discount.
