The popular driving simulation BeamNG.drive is coming to PlayStation 5, while the PC version is expecting a major update 0.39.

BeamNG.drive, a long-standing PC driving simulation known for its exceptionally detailed vehicle physics and realistic damage model, is coming to PlayStation 5 in 2026, confirmed the studio BeamNG.

The game originally launched in Early Access for PC on May 29, 2015, and is currently available via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Humble Store. BeamNG.drive has over the years established itself as one of the most recognizable sandbox titles for car enthusiasts, physics fans, and those experimenting with vehicles in open environments.

With the announcement of the PlayStation 5 version, the studio also detailed the upcoming PC update 0.39, which brings significant graphical enhancements. Among the new features are volumetric clouds with shadows, improved sky and atmospheric fog, a new Direct3D 12 renderer, HDR support, advanced lighting, and better night driving visuals.

The update will also bring optimizations related to the use of RAM and video memory, a new graphics settings system, an additional vehicle, and improvements to existing cars. The physics system will also be expanded, among other effects like slipstreaming and side slipstream overtaking, which should make racing strategically more interesting.

BeamNG has also confirmed that an official multiplayer for BeamNG.drive is in the plans, but it is not ready for release yet. The studio does not want to promise a specific date for now, but announces a gradual introduction when the core version is sufficiently ready.
