Gentle Troll, the development studio known for the D&D inspired visual novel Tavern Talk, has announced the release date of its new title Tavern Talk Stories: Dreamwalker.
The game arrives on June 9, 2026, on PC and Mac via Steam, as well as on Nintendo Switch. It is a standalone game set in the same universe as Tavern Talk, but with a new story and a new cast of characters.
The story takes place 36 years before the events of the original Tavern Talk. Players will once again take on the role of a person behind the bar who listens to adventurers, mixes magical drinks, and influences their fates. Through conversations, rumors are gathered which then turn into quests, while in the background, a story about dreams that begin to turn into nightmares unfolds.
The original Tavern Talk received a very good reception among players, with a score of 80 on Metacritic and nearly 1700 user reviews on Steam. Dreamwalker thus seems like an interesting return to the same world, especially for players who enjoy calmer narrative games, a fantasy atmosphere, and adventures shaped through conversations.
