The new arcade racer brings four unique islands, numerous stunt challenges, and free exploration starting from September 10th.

Arcade racing enthusiasts have reason to be pleased as Hot Wheels Infinite Rush has received a new release date – and it's earlier than originally announced.

Milestone and Mattel have confirmed that the game will arrive on September 10, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X devices. The release was originally planned two weeks later, on September 24.

On the occasion of the announcement of the new date, Milestone also presented the first installment of the video series Beyond the Track, which provides a closer look at what awaits us in the game. Unlike previous Hot Wheels titles, Infinite Rush places a strong emphasis on free exploration of an open world. Players will be able to participate in numerous activities such as Daredevil challenges, Delivery Stunts missions, and stunt activities inspired by classic stunt driving, along with unlocking new vehicles and additional content.

Milestone also introduced four major islands that will make up the game world:

  • Wheelswood – a modern metropolis full of skyscrapers, wide avenues, and hidden alleys.

  • Tentacle Bay – a relaxed coastal landscape with beaches, parks, and archaeological sites.

  • Gearville – a desert island filled with canyons, industrial facilities, and massive machines.

  • Drifty Temples – a location inspired by East Asian culture that combines neon-lit city streets, cherry blossoms, ancient temples, and a giant dragon dominating the landscape.

All locations will be interconnected through the Launcher system, which allows for instant travel between islands without the need for long loading times.

Although the Hot Wheels franchise has not lacked quality arcade racing games in recent years, Infinite Rush seems to be its most ambitious project yet. The combination of an open world, stunt challenges, and the recognizable Hot Wheels charm could represent a significant leap forward compared to previous installments.

Whether Milestone will succeed in combining the freedom of exploration with the adrenaline-fueled racing for which the series is known will be revealed on September 10, when Hot Wheels Infinite Rush finally arrives on PlayStation 5 and other platforms.
