Better experience for PC gamers

The Coalition and XBOX have announced that they will join forces with Nvidia, which will be their partner for the PC version of Gears of War: E-Day. By combining Unreal Engine 5 and DirectX 12, they will create the most technologically advanced title in the Gears of War series. This partnership will also ensure that the game is optimized for various PC configurations.

As an official partner, Nvidia will work closely with The Coalition and XBOX to enhance the PC experience using GeForce RTX technologies, optimizing performance, and providing support at launch. From the early stages of development to release, this partnership aims to create a first-class experience while optimizing the game for various types of configurations.

Pushing the boundaries with DirectX and RTX technologies

Gears of War: E-Day represents a return to the roots of the series through emotional storytelling, brutal combat, and cinematic scenes. To achieve all this, it is necessary to push the boundaries of technology on PCs. The game will feature advanced rendering capabilities through DirectX, including hardware ray tracing and Nvidia RTX features for environment and lighting. As we navigate through the horrors of Emergence Day, these technologies will enhance the visuals.

"Gears of War: E-Day has been developed to bring a cinematic and technological return to the roots of the series. Built on DirectX 12, we are focused on delivering the best experience for players on PC and consoles. The partnership with Nvidia further enhances that world with performance, responsiveness, and visual style that players expect," said Mike Perzel, Rendering Lead at The Coalition.

Built for performance

Responsive and fluid gameplay is just as important as the visual experience in Gears of War: E-Day. Through extensive optimization work with Nvidia, players can expect a game that plays as well as it looks, regardless of whether they are playing on the highest configuration or one that everyone uses. To maintain that promise, they have integrated NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and Nvidia Reflex. By combining these features, they will achieve better frame rates, improved image quality, reduced latency, and better responsiveness for controls.

Wide optimization

Gears of War: E-Day is optimized for performance and visuals on various configurations. Along with top-tier rendering features from Nvidia, it will also support AMD FSR, Unreal Engine TSR, Intel XeSS, and Advanced Shader Delivery (ASD). ASD prepares shaders before launch, allowing for shorter load times and potential stutters on first launch. ASD will be available through the Microsoft Store and XBOX PC app, with more stores and configurations to be added later.

Gears of War: E-Day releases on October 6 for PC and XBOX Series X/S.
