Techland is expanding the game through a new program with thematic maps, mods, rewards, and significant improvements to the core experience.

Techland has introduced The Breach, a new content program for Dying Light 2: Stay Human that opens the game to fresh experiences, new gameplay styles, and thematic worlds created by selected authors from the community. This is an initiative focused on user-generated content, but with clear editorial control from the studio, so maps developed in collaboration between Techland and creators will appear in the game, as well as specially selected mods that utilize the Dying Light formula in different ways.

The first chapter of the program arrives with update 1.28 titled Survival Archives. The story sees the return of Tolga and Fatin, who have opened a rift in reality, thereby introducing a series of hand-picked maps into the game. Techland announces diverse experiments, including third-person parkour, low gravity, tougher survival challenges, and special modifiers that change the familiar rules of the game.

The Breach is designed as a long-term reason to return to Dying Light 2: Stay Human. Players will gather experience both in the base game and in the new maps, so progress carries over regardless of where they play. Each chapter will also bring new rewards, including weapons and gear.

Update 1.28 not only brings new content but also significant changes to the base game. Techland has revamped the introductory hours to make it easier for new players to enter the game, adjusted the early encounter difficulty and the availability of starting loot, and the visuals have been updated. Environmental elements, lighting in cutscenes, and overall color balance have been improved, along with a number of fixes for issues reported by the community.

The Breach is based on three ideas: content is chosen and approved by Techland, the community actively participates in creating new experiences, and thematic worlds should regularly bring new challenges and rewards. Dying Light 2: Stay Human is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
