The Maverick Games team, composed of former developers of the Forza Horizon series, is finally ready to present their project. Everything is set to unfold on June 2, the same day as the State of Play.
Their debut title will be an open-world racing game with a focus on storytelling and will feature licensed vehicles, and it is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The only unknown on paper is who will be the publisher after Amazon Games stepped back from that role, and it is uncertain whether the team will self-publish the game or seek a potential new partner through this reveal.
Maverick was founded in 2022 by Mike Brown (designer and creative director of Horizon), and with him are: Tom Butcher (executive producer), Matt Craven (head of technology), Gareth Harwood (content director), Fraser Strachan (audio director), Ben Penrose (head of art department), and Elly Marshall (UI/UX lead).
