Atari is no longer a French company. Shareholders approved the relocation of the headquarters from France to Luxembourg, with 95.25 percent of the votes in favor of the so-called redomiciliation, or change of registration country while retaining the company's legal identity.
Although Atari is historically associated with the United States, today's Atari was formed through a series of acquisitions and business changes. The name ended up under the French Infogrames in the early 2000s, which later renamed itself to Atari SA, or Atari Group.
