According to Hollywood Reporter, Grand Theft Auto VI currently has no planned disc version, neither for release nor for the period after it. Although the game will have a physical edition in stores, it is expected to contain only a digital download code, without any actual media in the box.
This is a particularly sensitive decision for collectors and players who want the option to resell, lend, or preserve games long-term. If GTA VI succeeds without a traditional disc, it could send a clear signal to the rest of the industry.
