Ubisoft has revealed new details about the upcoming Black Flag remake.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will not only be a visually modernized version of the beloved pirate sequel from 2013. Ubisoft increasingly emphasizes that the remake brings concrete changes to gameplay, among which customizable interface, new final missions, and a greater emphasis on exploration stand out.

One of the more interesting new features is the ability to play without a HUD. The interface will be highly customizable, including combat, stealth, and sailing, allowing players who want a cleaner and more immersive experience to remove most visual indicators from the screen. This should make exploring the Caribbean, naval battles, and sneaking through enemy strongholds feel more natural and less burdened by modern indicators.

This approach could particularly shine during treasure hunts. Instead of constantly relying on map markers and the interface, the remake should encourage players to read the environment, follow clues, and explore the islands at their own pace. For a game based on pirate fantasy, the search for hidden treasure could thus become a more significant and convincing part of the adventure.

The second major novelty relates to additional missions and new end content. Creative director Paul Fu highlighted that the combat system, new missions, and final chapters are among his favorite elements of the remake. The new tasks are expected to expand the stories of well-known characters, while the final parts of the game will bring more noticeable changes compared to the original.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is set to release on July 9, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
