In Haven, magic reigns, and debauchery is strictly forbidden. It contradicts the cruel new ruler while you and your friends quest, loot, party, and fight through the entire kingdom to restore freedom to your people. - this is the description of the game Debauchery & Magic on Steam.
I haven't been this excited about an indie title in as long as I can remember. What I've seen online and on Steam blew me away.
Many of us got to know this game through the hilarious Reels on Instagram posted by the main dev, directly from his studio's page (@3rd_shift_studios). He presents it with such enthusiasm, and the game couldn't be more unserious than it is, and I don't mean that as an insult at all.
It's an open-world MMORPG where chaos reigns, and any rules and boundaries are not even on the horizon. The target audience might just be your friends who want to transfer their drunken antics into the online sphere, and this game is the perfect sandbox for that purpose.
There really isn't a main story or objectives in this game?? Therefore, the only goal is to have fun with your crew and explore the kingdom of D&M. The dev is very open to feedback and interaction with the audience on social media, so he values everyone's musical wishes.
In D&M, players are invited to roll around on their… skateboards?? - and they can, if they want, simultaneously smoke a virtual red Marlboro and drink cold beer straight from a mug. Yes, in the game. I mean, they can do it in real life too. I just don't know how responsible that would be of them. But okay, back to D&M:
Have a pet or mount you want, fish with the guys (and girls), spin a few Fruit Wheels at the nearby virtual casino, or consume natural (and illegal) drugs - D&M is your playground. The dev fulfills all wishes, assets and content are added on a weekly basis - who knows what kind of Godzilla this MMO will grow into in the end.
Fun is guaranteed, responsibility does not exist - as long as you keep this title among adults. Kids will have to wait a few more years to try it out.
