Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games announced during State of Play a seven-minute Extended Gameplay trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine, a dark, bloody, and action-packed adventure arriving exclusively on PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026. With the new game showcase, pre-orders have also opened.
The trailer clearly shows that Marvel’s Wolverine will not be an easy superhero adventure, but a significantly more mature game with an emphasis on brutal close combat. Logan slashes enemies with his claws, throws them around, uses the environment in battle, and leaves the impression of a character who does not hold back when things get out of control.
The story follows Logan in search of mutants kidnapped by the Reavers, a cybernetic mercenary group associated with Bolivar Trask. Jean Grey also appears in the trailer, helping Logan fight against Trask's forces. Insomniac announces an original story about James “Logan” Howlett, with a more serious tone and a higher dose of violence than we are used to seeing in superhero games.
Gameplay combines fast movement, claw attacks, stealth, ambushes, and special combat techniques like Tornado Spin and Bull Rush. Logan can also use a Rage system for stronger attacks, while his Healing Factor helps him survive during battles. An action sequence on the highway stands out, where Wolverine attacks vehicles on a motorcycle, jumps between them, and takes on opponents on the move.
Marvel’s Wolverine in the standard edition costs 79.99 euros, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at 89.99 euros. Pre-order bonuses include the Classic Brown suit, Reflective Claws, one additional technique point, and four PlayStation avatars. The Digital Deluxe Edition offers five exclusive suits, five exclusive claw variants, and three additional technique points.
