A new cozy game has arrived on the market, and if you are a fan of relaxing simulations and organizational games, it could easily win you over. In Thrifty Business, you manage and organize your own thrift shop, arranging items on shelves and creating the most appealing space for customers. By smartly arranging items within the same categories, you earn extra points that allow you to unlock new products and decorations.

The visual identity of the game stands out particularly. The items are nostalgic and cute, the animations charming, and the pixel art style is vividly colorful and pleasant to the eye. Although the character customization system does not offer a large number of options, it still manages to be very charismatic and diverse enough for personalizing the experience.

The greatest strength of the game lies in its addictiveness. The constant desire to unlock new items, upgrade the shop, and arrange the space according to your own wishes makes it hard to put down. Additional dynamics come from occasional events that attract new customers and provide a sense of progress without creating pressure. Since there are no strict rules or limitations, the game is ideal for players who enjoy playing at their own pace and indulging in the creative process.

During gameplay, I did not encounter any technical issues or bugs. The game runs very smoothly and stably, which further contributes to the relaxing experience. The music is pleasant and fits well with the atmosphere, but after prolonged play, it can become somewhat repetitive. A greater variety of musical themes that would alternate during gameplay would certainly enrich the overall experience.

The progression system is based on eight different styles that can be unlocked by collecting points, each bringing new items for the shop. The numerous references to popular culture and well-known media content hidden in the item names are particularly fun. A few references, especially those related to the Twilight saga, genuinely made me laugh.

It is important to emphasize that the game does not have a classic story or complex gameplay focused on challenges. Instead, the emphasis is placed on aesthetics, space organization, and creative expression. If this type of experience appeals to you, Thrifty Business will likely provide you with a lot of enjoyment. The mechanics are very intuitive, and the rules are simple to understand, making the game accessible to a wide range of players.

Although the story is not in the foreground, there are brief interactions among characters who donate or buy items and participate in events. During certain conversations, the player can choose between offered responses, and the NPC characters react depending on the choice, adding an extra dose of personality to the game world.

The target audience primarily consists of younger players familiar with internet culture and English slang, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and anyone looking for a relaxing experience after a long day. The atmosphere of the game successfully creates a sense of comfort and carefree enjoyment, which is crucial for the cozy genre.

When it comes to "replayability," I believe that the story itself is not a strong enough motivation for multiple playthroughs. However, players who enjoy decorating, organizing, and optimizing space will easily invest a large number of hours in setting up their ideal shop. As a potential improvement, I would suggest introducing daily tasks, additional goals, or mini-missions that would enrich the content and provide more reasons for regular returns to the game. Additionally, a very useful upgrade would be a system for filtering inventory by item categories, which would significantly ease the organization of shelves.

After several hours of gameplay, I did not encounter any technical difficulties and I look forward to unlocking the remaining furniture and completing my ideal thrift shop. Within the cozy genre, I believe that Thrifty Business deserves a very good rating of 4/5 stars. I would recommend it to all fans of cozy games, as well as players who enjoy creative space arrangement and a relaxed pace of play.
