Horror game enthusiasts have recently received several new reasons to keep an eye on upcoming releases. New projects have been announced, tentative release dates have been confirmed, and some already known games have received new trailers and details. What they have in common is that they attempt to push the horror genre in different directions, from survival horror with dinosaurs to psychological nightmares, asymmetrical cooperation, and supernatural investigations.

The Lost Wild is coming in 2027 for PlayStation 5 and PC. It is a survival horror game developed by Great Ape Games and published by Annapurna Interactive, where the player takes on the role of Saskia, a woman who wakes up on a mysterious island full of dinosaurs.

The game emphasizes avoiding danger, observing dinosaur behavior, utilizing the environment, and surviving without a classic action approach. Instead of fighting monsters, The Lost Wild tries to portray dinosaurs as wild animals that see the player as prey.

Farsight is a new first-person psychological horror game from the Indian studio Noori. It is planned for PC in the third quarter of 2026, while console versions will arrive later.

The game deals with liminal spaces, children's perception of reality, and an unusual vision that turns into something far darker. The player uses items like binoculars and the retro handheld console FUNTIME-GO, and the atmosphere relies on a sense of familiar yet completely wrong spaces.

Silver Pines is set to release on October 8, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Publisher Team17 and development team Wych Elm describe the game as a survival horror metroidvania, featuring exploration of a creepy town, limited resources, puzzles, and combat against grotesque threats. The game follows private investigator Red Walker, who is searching for the missing musician Eddie Velvet in the town of Silver Pines.

Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch has been announced as a cooperative horror game for Nintendo Switch 2, arriving in 2026. Atlantis Studio is building the experience around two players and asymmetrical cooperation.

One player is in a creepy house while the other guides them from a different perspective. The key to survival will be communication, interpreting information, and timely warnings about dangers.

Lucid Falls has received a second trailer. It is an atmospheric horror adventure from Eldamar Studio, relying on psychological unease, surreal scenes, and a dark visual style. The release date has not yet been confirmed, but new materials have further shown the direction the game is taking.

Where Dolls Hang is a new first-person survival psychological horror game from Steelkrill Studio for PC. The release date has not yet been announced.

The game takes the player to an area connected to the legend of an island where dolls hang, combining investigation, survival, paranormal elements, inventory management, boating, resource gathering, and exploration of swamps, forests, and other dangerous spaces.
