After a series of initial successes in Early Access, the viral online co-op horror title Cursed Companions is leaving Early Access and coming to version 1.0 on PC via Steam.
Cursed Companions is a co-op horror game that reacts to every word players say. Each player carries a curse related to a forbidden word, such as “Okay” or “I think.” If someone says it, the player takes damage.
Players can team up and try out various co-op gameplay modes. They can battle bosses in three standalone levels or dive into more challenging dungeons in Challenge Mode. Endless Mode tests the limits of endurance and shows how long players can survive.
Version 1.0 brings numerous new features that existing and future players have long sought, including:
Act III, which concludes the trilogy started in Act I and Act II
Respawn Dice, a die that allows players to test their luck with the dark queen; if they win, they return to the game
10 new creatures joining the 26 monsters released during Early Access
37 new Steam achievements, bringing the total to 183
7 new pieces of equipment, 65 new rooms, 4 new outdoor maps, and 15 new cosmetic items to unlock

Cursed Companions version 1.0 will be released on Steam on July 9, 2026.
