Last weekend, from June 26 to 28, 2026, the most popular esports tournament EVO (Evolution Championship Series) was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where some of the biggest names in the fighting game scene faced off. As always, there were plenty of announcements for both current and upcoming titles, and we have gathered them all in one place.
After the fantastic anime series Tekken Bloodlines produced by Netflix, we are getting an animated cartoon that stylistically resembles Western animation rather than anime aesthetics.
Avatar Legends revealed the first year
Gameplay Group and PM Studios have opened pre-orders for the digital version of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game and revealed that as part of the first year of additional content, characters Bolin, Ty Lee, Lin Beifong, Uncle Iroh, and one more character to be decided by community voting will be added.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising
Cygames and Arc System Works announced that Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will receive a new character named Id, who appeared in the title Granblue Fantasy: Relink. In addition, a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising has been announced, which will be released on September 17, and on that date Id will also be added to the game.
Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes
French-Bread and Arc System Works announced that they will add the character Zohar to Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes, which is coming this summer with a major update.
Guilty Gear: Strive
Another title from Arc System Works, Guilty Gear: Strive, will receive the fighter Robo=Kuy on Thursday.
Rivals of Aether II
Aether Studios announced that on August 4, Rivals of Aether II will add the character Gouie for free, while in 2027, Mina from Yacht Club Games' title Mina the Hollower will come as a guest character.
BlazBlue: Central Fiction
Arc System Works announced a new character for BlazBlue: Central Fiction, which will be available in the PC and PlayStation 4 versions and will be named Trinity Glassfille.
2XKO
The free-to-play title set in the League of Legends world, 2XKO, will add the characters Lux and Samira to its roster during 2026.
Virtua Fighter Crossroads
Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku introduced us to the character Bakunawa Killer in a new trailer for Virtua Fighter Crossroads, who will appear in the story and will also be available in versus mode.
Tekken 8
Bandai Namco showcased a trailer for the character Bob, who will arrive as part of the third season; he will be playable on August 19 for character pass owners, while others will have to wait until August 24.
The Path of the Warrior: Art of Fighting 3 R
SNK announced a new version of the game Art of Fighting 3, which will be titled The Path of the Warrior: Art of Fighting 3 R and will be available for PC via Steam as part of the Neo Geo Premium Selection offer.
NINJA MASTER’S: The Scroll of the Ninja Emperor
Another title from SNK is available on Steam and features an online mode that uses rollback netcode.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
The hero Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star is available as a guest character in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, announced SNK.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
Arc System Works and Sony Interactive Entertainment also revealed the final team for the upcoming Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. The team will be named Samurai Outsiders and will consist of Ghost Rider, Blade, Loki, and Deadpool; in addition, we learned that an open beta test will take place on PC and PlayStation 5 from July 24 to 26.
