Stormind Games has unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy during the PC Gaming Show. The third installment of the survival horror series is set to release later this year for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and the new showcase provides a better look at exploration, hiding, combat, and supernatural abilities that will define this chapter.
Red Nun’s Legacy takes players to an abandoned villa and the monastery space of Cristo Morente, where behind a distorted reality, repressed secrets, and disturbing discoveries lies the story of the Red Nun. The main threat once again comes from the Stalkers, relentless pursuers from whom players will have to hide, flee, and survive, but this time with a bit more options for resistance.
Unlike previous installments, Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy introduces limited use of cold weapons for defense in critical moments, as well as psychic powers that open new paths through the villa. Retrocognition allows players to listen to and relive echoes of the past related to objects and locations, while the power Secret in Mirrors reveals hidden truths and shatters hypnotic illusions in reflections. Moth Manipulation, on the other hand, enables the control of swarms of moths to destroy infected nests and uncover new passages.
The game relies on the tradition of third-person survival horror, with exploration of a meticulously crafted world, collecting clues and key items, and solving puzzles that unlock new areas. The atmosphere is further enhanced by a cast that includes Cissy Jones, known for her roles in The Walking Dead, Life is Strange, and Firewatch, as well as Maggie Robertson, the voice of Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village. The music is composed by Akira Yamaoka, the legendary composer of the Silent Hill series.
Stormind Games also reminded that the first two Remothered titles can be downloaded for free on PC during a limited period. Remothered: Tormented Fathers is available for download on Steam, while Remothered: Broken Porcelain is available on GOG.
