The cooperative game Dung Ho! has been expanded with the update Pirates of the Veld, which brings new enemies, campaigns, items, cosmetic additions, achievements, and a range of gameplay quality improvements. It is a physics-based adventure inspired by the real behavior of dung beetles, where up to six tiny bugs work together to transport a ball of dung to their home. The game can be played solo or with friends, and obstacles, challenging terrain, and unpredictable physics turn a simple task into chaotic situations full of last-minute rescues, misjudgments, and unintentional comedy. Individual sessions last between 30 and 60 minutes, with an emphasis on accessible mechanics, cooperation, and high replayability.
Pirates of the Veld introduces pirates as a new type of enemy, along with more dangerous encounters and explosive obstacles. Among the bigger novelties is Bobbin’s Nightmare, a new vertical gameplay mode inspired by games like Only Up!, where players try to reach as high as possible, with one mistake potentially sending them far back. The safari part of the game has been expanded with new campaigns and challenging routes, including Tour of Africa, and new items, character customization options, and achievements have been added. The project is being developed by a team of experienced developers who previously worked on the Borderlands and Skylanders series, and Dung Ho! was created as an independent project developed outside of their regular working hours. After an initial release that went by without a major promotional campaign, the authors hope that the new update will attract more players to this unusual cooperative adventure.
