Dead by Daylight is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a big Anniversary event, the arrival of Jason Voorhees, and new content revealed through the PTB. The game is entering a new chapter with a record community and plans that could define the rest of 2026.

Dead by Daylight is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and Behaviour Interactive has prepared one of the biggest celebrations in the game's history. In addition to a special anniversary event and numerous rewards for players, the main star of the upcoming chapter will be the legendary Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th series.

The celebration began at the end of May with a series of announcements and livestreams, while the highlight of the event will be on June 14 during the official Anniversary Broadcast in Montreal. Just two days later, on June 16, a new chapter featuring Jason Voorhees will arrive on the live servers.

Players were particularly thrilled with the way this iconic franchise was announced. The livestream lasted exactly 13 hours, and for almost the entire time, it showed only footage of a dilapidated cabin in the middle of the woods. Some of the most loyal players and streamers closely followed the broadcast for all 13 hours, trying to figure out if something would happen or recognize any clues that could reveal which license it was.

Only towards the end did the camera start to zoom in on the cabin, and then, accompanied by the recognizable sounds of Jason, his silhouette appeared in the glass. Given that Jason and Friday the 13th have been among the most sought-after additions for Dead by Daylight for years and that their arrival has been complicated by long-standing licensing issues, this is an excellent move by the developers. In this way, they have appropriately marked the 10th anniversary of the game and created immense excitement and hype among players.

According to past practices, the anniversary event will last several weeks and will include increased Bloodpoint bonuses, special challenges, exclusive cosmetic items, and daily login rewards.

Behaviour has not yet revealed all the details of the event, so it is expected that some content will be presented during the Anniversary Broadcast, which will take place according to our time on June 15 at 2:00 AM.

What did the last PTB show?

The latest Public Test Build (PTB) focused on testing Jason before his arrival on the live servers. Community feedback suggests that he is an extremely aggressive killer who combines strong map pressure with the ability to quickly punish survivor mistakes.

Although Behaviour Interactive regularly adjusts statistics, abilities, and perks after the PTB phase, players are already noting that Jason acts as a killer who rewards constant pressure and good map control. Additional balance adjustments are expected to be introduced before the official release based on community feedback.

A new era begins for Dead by Daylight

Dead by Daylight enters its tenth year with a record number of licenses, regular new chapters, and one of the most active communities in the asymmetrical horror game genre. Over the past ten years, more than 70 million players have played the game, and it currently records around one million active players daily across all platforms.

Dead by Daylight was released in 2016, when only about thirty people were working on the project. Today, Behaviour Interactive has around 500 employees, making this development house one of the largest studios in Canada.

The arrival of Jason Voorhees represents a symbolic beginning of a new era for the game, and the Anniversary Broadcast is expected to reveal plans for the rest of 2026. For fans of Dead by Daylight, the upcoming weeks could be among the most exciting in the game's history.
