During the Summer Game Fest 2026, GEN Atlas was officially presented, a new game from the Japanese studio genDESIGN led by the legendary creator Fumito Ueda, known for titles like ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian. The project is being developed in collaboration with Epic Games Publishing.
The showcased trailer revealed an unusual world of gigantic proportions, futuristic motifs, and a massive humanoid being facing a threat of planetary scale. As with Ueda's previous games, the story and gameplay details remain shrouded in mystery for now.
The release date and platforms have not yet been confirmed, but the first glimpses suggest that GEN Atlas could be one of the most intriguing original works in development.
