Baiacool: Tides of Olympus is a new upcoming humorous top-down adventure from Brazilian solo developer João Sassa, who is developing the project under the studio name Sasquatch with socks. The title is coming to PC via Steam, with a release planned for December 2026. At the heart of the story is a simple yet bizarre question: what would happen if Greek mythology moved to the bottom of the sea, Poseidon mysteriously disappeared, and the only available hero was a round pufferfish that can only say one word: “Cool”?
The main character is Baiacool, a stubborn and self-confident pufferfish with a very limited vocabulary, but apparently a big enough role to try to save the entire marine Olympus. After Poseidon disappears and sends a mysterious warning of a possible war, the ocean becomes unstable, other rulers of the depths grow increasingly suspicious, and the responsibility somehow ends up on him. Fortunately, Baiacool is not completely alone. With him is Mystic Stick, a talkative weapon that has much more to say than its owner. Together they embark on a quest for the truth, touring strange temples and facing unusual sea versions of well-known deities.
Baiacool: Tides of Olympus combines exploration from a bird's-eye view, action combat, environmental puzzles, boss fights, and quirky humor. Players will traverse themed regions, solve obstacles, fight opponents, unlock new powers, meet bizarre NPCs, and gradually piece together the bigger picture of Poseidon's disappearance. A particularly interesting aspect of this indie adventure is the way it reinterprets familiar characters. In this version, Ares is a violent swordsman, Athena a wise dolphin, Zeus an electric catfish charged with authority and lightning, while Poseidon is depicted as a giant squid. Each of them has their own visual identity, personality, and area in which they reside. Developer João Sassa emphasizes that comedy is one of the main elements of this game. Although the plot deals with serious issues, Poseidon's disappearance and the potential war, the story itself goes through absurd characters, strange prophecies, dramatic inhabitants of the depths, a talkative stick, and a protagonist who almost always responds with the same word.
It is commendable that Baiacool: Tides of Olympus is conceived as a compact indie experience that does not want to last too long but aims to leave an impression through its colorful visual style, faster pace, quirky dialogues, and unusual interpretation of classic legends. The campaign itself is expected to last around two to three hours. The demo version is already available on Steam, featuring an introductory phase set in Ares' temple, NPC interactions, introductory puzzles, four exclusive enemies, a boss fight against Ares, three available skins, one secret skin, and two new powers.
Baiacool: Tides of Olympus targets players who enjoy colorful indie adventures, quirky humor, and worlds where Greek mythology turns into a wacky underwater mess.
