I don't see the point of this game - it doesn't reach or enrich the themes of Zelda titles from the 90s and 2000s at all - Link to the Past, Links Awakening, ...
I can understand this as some kind of homage to Zelda SNES titles, but there really is nothing here that hasn't been seen 100 times before in Zelda titles that came out over 30 (or even more) years ago.
In essence, this is a top-down metroidvania with already seen "skills (sword, jumping, swimming, ...)" that even looks cute, but somewhat unusual controls and the lack of "secrets" (as a sort of reward for exploration and left-field thinking) relentlessly extinguish my desire to push through the game to the end. At 50-60% progress, I somehow just don't feel like it anymore because I see where it's all going, so - good attempt but let's work a bit on originality in the future.
