Microsoft marked the year 2025 with record investments in Game Pass, a service that has been the main pillar of their gaming strategy for a long time. Chris Charla, head of the ID@Xbox program, revealed that never before have so many resources been invested in expanding and strengthening the subscription.
According to him, interest from publishers remains strong – most of those who have already experienced the benefits of Game Pass want to continue bringing their games to the platform. It was signed during this year more than 150 new contracts, and many of these titles are still awaiting official unveilings.
However, part of the list is already known - subscribers will be able to play sequels like Subnautica 2, High on Life 2, but also Tropico 7, Planet of Lana 2, Super Meat Boy 3D and other games that promise to further enrich the offer.
Despite last year's price hike that sparked outrage, Game Pass has proven remarkably resilient. Suffice it to mention that the launch Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 broke records for the number of new subscribers in one day.
Although Xbox still does not reveal how many total users it has, the last known data from 2022 spoke about 25 million subscribers. However, the amount of capital invested and the expansion of the catalog clearly indicate that Game Pass remains at the center of Microsoft's strategy in the years to come.
