Play by Play Studios has announced an open beta for NBA THE RUN, a new arcade three-on-three basketball game set to release on June 9, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
The open beta will take place on May 30, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM Central European Time, or from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific Time. The testing will support cross-play between all platforms, meaning players on consoles and PC will be able to play together.
The beta will offer two gameplay modes. In the Knockout Squads mode, players control one basketball player on a team of three, while Knockout Solos allows for managing the entire team. An impressive lineup of NBA stars will also be available in the test, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, Luka Dončić, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Nikola Jokić, Victor Wembanyama, Anthony Edwards, and other well-known players.
In addition to NBA players, the beta includes the Street Legends character Destiny “DJ” Jackson, advanced dunks, taunts, and the first implementations of stylish moves like crossovers and Shammgod. NBA THE RUN clearly aims for a faster, more impactful, and arcade-like interpretation of street basketball, and this beta will serve as the final major test before the game's release.
