Indie studio Buzzin' Games has announced its debut title Rock, Paper, Severed, a dark horror reinterpretation of the classic game rock-paper-scissors. The game is in development for PC via Steam, with a release planned for 2026.
At first glance, the rules are very simple: sit at the table, play a round, and try to win. However, in this version, defeat means not just a lost point, but also a bloody sacrifice. Every wrong move costs the player a finger, making each decision a tense battle of strategy, bluffing, and survival.
The central role is played by the mysterious Entity, a shadowy host who offers players a chance for redemption. Those who accept the game are drawn in by the promise of erasing their own sins, but escaping this hellish ritual is anything but simple. As the matches unfold, fragments of the past begin to reveal themselves, and the true cost of the game becomes increasingly sinister.
Rock, Paper, Severed combines the familiar foundation of the classic game with psychological tension and additional strategic elements. Players will be able to use various items to manipulate outcomes, turn situations to their advantage, and outsmart their opponents. Reading the opponent, bluffing, and assessing risk will play a crucial role.
The game will offer a single-player campaign against the Entity, where the story unfolds through each round, as well as multiplayer for 2 to 4 players, where friends can test their nerves in brutal matches from which only one emerges "unscathed."
Buzzin' Games also released the first teaser trailer alongside the announcement, showcasing the dark atmosphere, game table, and eerie roles awaiting all those brave enough to sit across from the Entity.
