Enshrouded has received a release date for version 1.0!

If you have been following Enshrouded since its Early Access release in early 2024, you know how much the game has progressed. The survival crafting title set in toxic clouds known as Shroud has attracted millions of players, and Keen Games has consistently delivered content throughout the entire Early Access period. Now it's finally time for 1.0.

What does 1.0 bring?

The full version is not just "Early Access with bug fixes," but a truly significant expansion of the game. Embervale is getting several new biomes: Blackmire, a vertically arranged swamp area, Albaneve Summits with extreme cold conditions, and Veilwater Basin full of cliffs and natural obstacles. One of the biggest attractions is a floating island above the clouds, connected to the ground by a series of platforms, visually impressive and likely full of dangers.

For dungeon lovers, there are also the Hollow Halls, mega-dungeons focused on combat that promise a real challenge for experienced players.

On the systems side, the game is getting dynamic voxel water simulation with rivers and lakes that actually flow, fishing, breeding, and raising animals, as well as an Adventure Sharing portal through which you can download and play maps created by other players. Logic gates, traps, and enemy spawners give even more control to community creators.

Keen Games also promises improved onboarding for new players, smoother quest progression, and performance optimizations with faster shader compilation and better stability.

PS5 yes, Xbox waits

Alongside PC, 1.0 will be released simultaneously on PlayStation 5 on October 15. However, the Xbox Series X/S version has been delayed to spring 2027. CEO of Keen Games, Jan Jockel, explained that bringing the game to two console platforms simultaneously was more challenging than expected, especially due to complex systems like terraforming and large-scale building. They decided to prioritize quality over speed of release, which is hard to argue against.

Disappointing for Xbox players, but at least they know it's coming.
