2nd EVE is an Early Access game for PC that already shows a clear authorial vision and a strong enough identity to stand out from the growing pile of soulslike titles. It is a 2D action RPG with elements of horror and science fiction, in which we take on the role of Sister Zola, a cybernetic combat nun trapped on the corrupted colonial ship Argos. The game has been in Early Access since April 14, 2026.

The greatest strength of the game lies not only in combat but in atmosphere. 2nd EVE very effectively combines religious iconography, cosmic horror, and gritty science fiction. The ship's corridors feel abandoned, but never safe, and every new space carries the feeling that something that shouldn't exist lies behind the next door. This approach to the world gives the game a personality that is often lacking in smaller soulslike projects.

Combat is slow, deliberate, and punishes inattention. It is not about randomly mashing buttons, but about reading opponents, properly timing attacks, and smartly using special abilities. Once the system clicks, every victory feels deserved. Upgrades through Warp Ash add an RPG layer, but do not take center stage. The player who learns patterns and remains patient still prevails.

As an Early Access title, 2nd EVE has expected rough edges. Occasional technical issues, stutters in combat, and parts of the presentation such as voice acting and cutscenes still need refinement. However, these problems currently feel more like a result of incompleteness than a sign of a poor foundation.

In conclusion, 2nd EVE is a game that should not be viewed as a finished product, but as a very promising project. If you enjoy dark 2D soulslike games, a heavy atmosphere, and combat that requires concentration, this is an Early Access title worth following.
