This week's overview brings a combination of smaller, yet interesting announcements covering very different parts of the gaming scene. We have a Japanese puzzle phenomenon finally coming to Steam, a new look at a dark fantasy RPG, an unusual adventure set in an underground version of American history, a coin pusher roguelike for consoles, a sports live-service roadmap, a major MMORPG preparing for a global debut, and the return of a well-known motorsport management series.

Suika Game is coming to Steam

Suika Game, a simple and extremely popular puzzle game that first conquered Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms, is soon coming to Steam. This is a game from 2021 that was among the most popular digital titles for Nintendo Switch in Japan during 2023 and 2024, and together with mobile versions, it has surpassed 13 million downloads. The release date for the Steam version has not yet been confirmed.

The concept of the game is very simple, but evidently addictive enough. Players drop fruit into a bowl and try to match the same types to create larger fruits, until the space becomes overcrowded. Suika Game thus acts as a combination of Tetris logic, physics, and a relaxed "just one more try" rhythm, which is probably why it has transformed from a relatively small title into a true phenomenon.

The Relic: First Guardian showcased 12 minutes of exploration

Perp Games and Project Cloud Games have released a new 12-minute gameplay trailer for The Relic: First Guardian. This is a dark fantasy Soulslike action RPG in which players explore the crumbling world of Arsiltus, collect parts of a great relic, and attempt to close the void that has destroyed the once-prosperous land. The game is set to release on July 31 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, while versions for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch 2 will arrive later in the summer.

The new showcase emphasizes exploration, combat, and the progression system. The Relic: First Guardian does not have classic character levels; instead, development relies on runes, items, and crafting. Players will be able to choose from five types of weapons, each with its own skills, and alongside combat, puzzles and dungeon exploration play an important role. Based on what has been shown so far, the game targets an audience looking for a darker action RPG with a semi-open world and a somewhat slower, more cautious pace.

UNDERGROUNDED releases in early July

UNDERGROUNDED will be released on July 3, 2026, for PC via Steam. The game is published by room6, developed by Game Studio, and the price in Japan will be 2,480 yen. Supported languages include English, Japanese, traditional Chinese, and simplified Chinese. It is a puzzle adventure in which a young man from Manhattan searches for a lost engagement ring after his proposal doesn't go quite as planned.

What starts as a small personal disaster quickly turns into a journey through a strange underground labyrinth made up of American history and pop culture. The sewers lead to cinemas, the space race, the Wild West, and other nostalgic motifs. UNDERGROUNDED combines puzzles, a companion in the form of a talkative canary, and retro arcade machines that influence the world around the player. It seems to be one of those smaller titles that rely on idea and atmosphere more than on a big budget.

RACCOIN: Coin Pusher Roguelike is coming to consoles

Playstack and Doraccoon have announced that RACCOIN: Coin Pusher Roguelike will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 this fall. The game first launched for PC via Steam on March 31, 2026, and is now expanding to consoles.

RACCOIN combines the arcade coin pusher concept with a roguelike deckbuilding structure. Players insert special coins, combine their effects, and use over 100 different chips that can change the course of attempts. Special coins can create extra points, trigger chain reactions, or literally blast a pile of coins forward. With multiple characters and different play styles, RACCOIN sounds like a strange but easily understandable combination of slots, strategy, and controlled chaos.

NBA THE RUN prepares for the Summer Heat season

NBA THE RUN has received a new roadmap showing what players can expect during the summer and beyond. A patch with fixes, gameplay tweaks, and balancing is coming at the end of June, while an update with three new NBA players and additional content is planned for July. The first major season, Summer Heat, kicks off in August and will last until September.

Summer Heat brings new players, Drive Camera view, Championship Belt, Comms Wheel for faster communication, Practice Mode, new rulesets, new courts, additional shop items, and a possible leaderboard as a broader goal for the season. After that, new seasons are planned every two to three months, a ranked/ladders system later in the year, voice communication, and a campaign mode expected in spring 2027. NBA THE RUN is thus increasingly positioning itself as a live-service sports game that will live on long-term through seasons, new modes, and constant balancing.

AION 2 expands communication to a global audience

NC, formerly known as NCSOFT, has begun globally directing developer video format for AION 2. After earlier addresses to the Korean and Taiwanese markets, the development team is now reaching out to international players ahead of the global PC release in September via Steam and the PURPLE platform. The new video features Game Director Nam-Joon Kim, Head of AION 2 Global Publishing In-Sub So, and Executive Publishing Producer Merv Lee Kwai.

AION 2 aims to stand out through full 3D flight freedom, aerial combat, and over 200 dungeon contents. The game offers a deep character creation tool, various wings, a pet system that also functions as a mount system, and improved PvE and PvP compared to the original AION. As a sequel to one of the more well-known MMORPGs from the late 2000s, global communication will be important, especially since the game has already launched earlier in Korea and Taiwan.

Motorsport Manager 2 announced for 2027

Playsport Games is returning to the Motorsport Manager series with the sequel Motorsport Manager 2, which is planned for Steam in 2027. The publisher is Miniclip, and the game is described on the Steam page as a larger and deeper evolution of motorsport management simulation where the player takes on the role of Team Principal.

Motorsport Manager 2 brings more disciplines, including Single Seater, GT, and Endurance, deeper team management, driver and car development, finances, race strategy, and long-term planning. Since the game is not tied to official licenses, the emphasis is on the freedom to create your own motorsport world with custom teams, drivers, rivalries, and championships. The announcement of full mod support from day one is also particularly important, which could give the sequel a long life among fans who kept the original active for years.
