Take It Studio has announced Plumbing Simulator, a new simulation game that puts players in the work clothes of a plumber and gives them control over their own small business. The game is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, and aims to offer a detailed yet humorous look at the daily life of a tradesperson dealing with leaks, clogs, and renovation chaos.
At the heart of the game is the idea that players must understand what usually lies behind walls and under floors. Each job begins with arriving on site, diagnosing the problem, and removing old installations, followed by the installation of a new, functional system. Although the theme sounds very technical on paper, Plumbing Simulator will weave light narration and humorous situations with clients through its tasks.
The game relies on physical interactions and an immersive approach to work. Components will not just be clicked, but players will be able to grab, rotate, move, and precisely place them. In the event of a pipe burst, players will need to find the fault, turn off the water, and carry out the repair step by step. A special inspection mode will allow zooming in on individual joints, checking seals, and replacing faulty parts.
The choice of materials will also play a significant role. Copper, steel, and plastic will differ not only in appearance but also in how they work. Steel pipes will require sealing and tightening, copper will need a torch, while plastic will be joined with glue or a heat tool. Players will be able to choose cheaper components to reduce costs, but such decisions may lead to a higher risk of later problems.
One of the main challenges will be planning and installing sewage networks within various buildings. Players will measure spaces, choose pipe diameters, assemble systems using valves and joints, and finish the job by renovating the bathroom if necessary. When clients request a complete service, they will be able to choose sanitary ware, furniture, and decorations, all within the agreed budget.
Plumbing Simulator currently does not have a confirmed release date, but the announced simultaneous release on PC and consoles suggests that Take It Studio is aiming for a broader audience of fans of work and craft simulations. If you have ever wanted to see what the job behind leaks, clogged drains, and bathroom renovations looks like, this game could offer just that experience.
