According to a report by Alinea Analytics, Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023) sold twice as many copies as any other remake of this generation. The PlayStation 4 and 5 versions accounted for the largest share at 47%, followed by Steam at 43% and XBOX at 10%. RE4 also achieved good results in 2025 when it sold four million copies.
In second place in the report is Ark: Survival Ascended with seven million copies sold, while the top 3 is rounded out by Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part I, which achieved 44.6% of its sales on PC, where it made its debut. Titles such as Metal Gear Solid Delta, System Shock, Until Dawn, and others were missing from the list. The complete list of the top 10 best-selling remakes looks like this:
