Chronoscript: The Endless End is set to release in autumn 2026. It is an exploratory 3D action-adventure developed by DeskWorks Inc., with publishing handled by SHUEISHA GAMES.
The game was showcased again during the Future Games Show, where a new Prologue Trailer was presented. The trailer offers a first look at the design of the mysterious author, the main character editor Frederick G. Muller, and a new stage inspired by ancient Egypt.
The story begins in 2026, after editor Frederick G. Muller completes a long-running series. He soon receives a call from a new author and travels to her isolated villa deep in the mountains. After an unusual encounter, he loses consciousness, and when he wakes up, he realizes he is trapped within the manuscript The Endless End, a work by the vampiric author Viole S. Chambers.
Chronoscript: The Endless End combines exploration of a 3D villa and traversal through 2D pages of the manuscript. Players will explore different periods and locations recorded in a story that is a thousand years old, using new abilities to navigate through ink and fight against enemies known as The Ruined, souls returned in a distorted form.
The visual style relies on hand-drawn characters, opponents, and backgrounds created using pen and ink techniques. Animations are done frame by frame, aiming to connect the look of an ancient manuscript with action platforming challenges.
