During this year's video game fair Gamescom, we as media representatives were invited to a closed-door presentation of the upcoming new James Bond video game from the Danish studio IO Interactive.
The gameplay demonstration by the developers on the PlayStation 5 console lasted 30 minutes, and we were shown a small part of the gameplay from one mission. At first, it was strange to see a young James Bond in a unique new adventure sneaking into a hotel for a party. We must admit, we are used to the older spy from the movies.

The game combines action movie gameplay in the style of the Uncharted series with well-known stealth mechanics. The action sequences themselves are quite linear. As for the spy aspect, each mission can be completed in multiple ways.
Mission locations will take place in various locations around the world. Their total number at the time of writing this article is unknown. Totally expected, the game will feature modernized gameplay tailored for younger generations (focus and slow-motion during frantic shootouts against enemies).
Of all the sequences shown, we were particularly impressed by the car chase. Although it is a linear experience, there was no shortage of action and excitement. It’s nice to see how the new game will feature diverse gameplay that will allow players to experience the early adventures of the popular secret agent James Bond in the best possible way.

We also saw how young Bond jumps out of a plane without a parachute! We must admit, the execution of all the shown parts of the game is at a high level. We eagerly await the release date to be revealed.
007: First Light was announced in 2020. The development studio IO Interactive obtained the license thanks to its rich experience in developing games from the popular Hitman series. Compared to the previous next-gen Hitman, 007 features an upgraded Glacier graphic engine.
According to information obtained from representatives of IO Interactive, the release of the new adventure of young James Bond is scheduled for 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. More information about the game will be revealed in the coming months.
You can see how the game looks in action in our last night's article.
