Ideal length for a AAA adventure?

The upcoming spy action title 007 First Light, developed by IO Interactive, could offer exactly what many players are looking for – a campaign lasting around 20 hours.

According to the latest information, the main story of the game will last approximately 20 hours for the average player, which is a sort of “sweet spot” for modern AAA titles.

What is particularly interesting is the fact that this figure does not include additional content that has already been announced. Namely, the game will also receive extra missions through special modes, meaning that the total playtime could be significantly longer.

At a time when many major titles last under 10 hours, this approach could be a big plus for players looking for more content for the full price. Because of this, there is already speculation that 007 First Light could be one of the stronger single-player hits of the year.

Let’s remember, the game is set to release on May 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, while the version for Nintendo Switch 2 will arrive later. During last year's visit to the largest video game fair in the world, we had the opportunity to see a closed presentation / demo of the game. We really like that the game features gameplay elements inspired by the Uncharted series.

With an original story about young James Bond and a combination of stealth, action, and gadgets, everything points to IO Interactive potentially delivering one of the most important Bond games in the last 20 years!
