Empluna is a new city builder game from the studio BigCodersPlanet, a small indie team whose first full project this is after years of working on tools and assets for other developers. The game is in development for PC via Steam, and the release date has not yet been confirmed.
Unlike classic city-building simulations, Empluna emphasizes creative construction without strict templates. Players do not just place ready-made buildings; they plan, construct, and customize them from individual rooms to larger industrial complexes. Created blueprints can be saved and reused, which should facilitate city expansion and the creation of a unique urban style.
The city develops based on the players' decisions. Craftsmen, families, professionals, researchers, artists, and tourists come to it, and each group has its own needs and expectations. The game allows for the construction of schools, healthcare facilities, racetracks, mountain cable cars, amusement parks, roads, and railway networks.
Empluna also includes resource management, production, storage, import, and export of goods, but without an emphasis on strict economic simulation. The maps are procedurally generated, and the terrain can be shaped, flattened, and adjusted to the needs of the city.
