Ubisoft has announced the establishment of a new subsidiary, Vantage Studios, a creative studio in which Tencent has a 25 percent stake. The studio will take over the development and expansion of important Ubisoft franchises such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six. Vantage Studios is led by the team of Charlie Guillemot and Christophe Derennes.
The goal is to give development teams more autonomy, shorten the path from player feedback to implementation, while leveraging Ubisoft's tools, resources and expertise. Vantage Studios teams are located in Ubisoft studios in Montreal, Quebec, Barcelona, Sofia and other locations.
