24 teams have been selected to compete in the upcoming Major in Shanghai. After two weeks of RMR, three teams from Asia, seven from America and fourteen from Europe successfully made it through the grueling regional qualifiers.
Teams that remained unplaced:
- Astralis, who will miss his fourth Major in a row
- Eternal Fire
- Falcons
- 9z
On the other hand, teams like Wildcard and Passion UA impressed during the qualifiers and exceeded expectations to qualify for the Major. Passion UA spent 300 days living together, preparing for this moment. BIG and 3DMAX achieved a perfect result in the European B group, finishing with 3-0. Now, Valve's final leaderboard updates before the start of the Major on November 30th will decide which eight teams from the European RMR will go directly to the Elimination stage. Other teams, along with teams from American and Asian RMR, will start in the Opening stage, unfortunately BiG will also have to play in the open stage even though they were 3-0 on RMR, this happened because of Valve's mistake which they later admitted.
