The upcoming remake of Resident Evil Veronica remains in third person like the original title, confirmed producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi for IGN. Resident Evil Code Veronica also had a third person perspective with changing camera angles, and it seems that with the recent trailer at the Summer Game Fest, Capcom decided to entice players by suggesting it would be in first person, i.e., they wanted to hide Claire Redfield.
The trailer also features some scenes that were not present in the original, as Claire is captured in Paris instead of Umbrella's facility as it was in Code Veronica.
Hirabayashi said the following about certain changes: "The team behind this remake is the same team that worked on the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4. If you look at the previous games this team has made, you can probably sense a certain way of thinking we have when making a game, and that way of thinking includes preserving the iconic and key elements of the original title."
Resident Evil Veronica is set to release sometime in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
