Colleague Vedran Karlić from 227gaming reminisced about his first playthrough of InFamous 2.

If someone had told you 15 years ago, as inFamous 2 celebrates today, that this would be the last numbered installment of the series, you would probably have said they were lying. And yet, 15 years later, that statement is true. The series received another installment, but it wasn't numbered. Since that 2014 year, there has been nothing new. There isn't even a remaster or collection for modern devices, as this is a PlayStation 3 game.

Sucker Punch Productions has moved on, Ghost of Tsushima and Yōtei showcased the studio's talent. So it's hard to say that this decision was bad; Sony has clearly decided to move on, as they could have hired a studio to continue that series. But they didn't. Cole MacGrath clearly wasn't profitable enough for further investment. But he was ahead of his time. inFamous as a series actually brought a comic book style of gameplay before it became very popular.

The best thing the team did was not to do what many do – have some abilities, let's scale them down so everything starts from scratch. Oh no. They embraced the power they ended up with in the first part and moved on from there. Further increasing the protagonist's power and all that with choices that could make you a hero or a villain, including different story development based on decisions. It seems to me that big companies were much more willing to take risks back then than they are today. Because it was great to 'ride' on electrical cables.
