Mintrocket, a studio known for the game Dave the Diver, has officially introduced BANCHO THE CHEF, a new announcement that expands the familiar world through the story of the early years of one of the most recognizable characters. The game follows Bancho during the period before the events of Dave the Diver, as he travels through Asia as a young chef, learning regional cuisines and developing the skills for which he will later become famous.
BANCHO THE CHEF combines cooking simulation, light RPG progression, and restaurant management. Players will travel through locations inspired by Japan, Korea, and China, learn authentic dishes, discover ingredients, serve guests, and gradually build a reputation in each region. Progress is based on learning recipes, fulfilling local requests, successfully managing the restaurant, and mastering new culinary techniques.
In addition to main missions and cooking, the game will feature mini-games, exploration, fishing, VIP tasks, and additional activities that are expected to expand Bancho's journey. Mintrocket also announces a narratively rich story that will explain Bancho's background and his connection to the world of the game Dave the Diver.
Mintrocket's head Jaeho Hwang stated that Bancho has long been one of the favorite characters among fans of Dave the Diver and that, as a somewhat mysterious and exceptionally skilled chef, he deserves his own story.
BANCHO THE CHEF is in development for PC and consoles. The game can already be added to the wishlist via Steam and PlayStation Store, while the exact release date and additional platform information will be announced later.
