FDG Entertainment announced a new gameplay trailer for Gombo during the Green Games Showcase, held as part of the Summer Game Fest. The game will be available in Early Access on Steam starting June 3, 2026, and the new video further showcases ecological themes and a mysterious infection spreading through its world.
The trailer includes commentary from developer Martin Cochet, who discusses the inspiration behind the game's world and the contrast between its natural beauty and the corruption that is gradually destroying it. Gombo takes players into a colorful hand-drawn world where survival, crafting, farming, building, and combat intertwine with the mystery of the infection threatening the balance of nature.
During the day, the world appears peaceful and inviting, but after night falls, the environment changes, and infected creatures become aggressive. Players can explore forests, haunted areas, villages, and dungeons either solo or in an online cooperative mode for two players, gathering resources, crafting equipment, building homes and farms, caring for pets, and fighting against infected enemies and large bosses.
The current Early Access version includes a forest and swampy Bayou, main and side quests, mini-bosses, over 20 types of infected enemies, a skill system, character customization, farming, and crafting. Gombo supports Windows, MacOS, Linux, and Steam Deck, with full controller support.
