Maximum Entertainment has announced Smalland 2: Lost Realms, a new installment in the miniature open-world survival adventure Smalland: Survive the Wilds. The game is set to release in 2026 for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, while the version for Nintendo Switch 2 is planned for 2027.
The story is set long before the events of the original game, in a mythical age before the arrival of the Giants. Players once again take on the role of Smallfolk and explore the Lost Realms, a world filled with elemental beings, forgotten civilizations, and ancient secrets. The goal is to uncover what lies behind the dark prophecy that foretells disaster for the future of the world.
Smalland 2: Lost Realms features a larger world, new regions, deeper character progression, and retains cooperative gameplay for up to ten players. New features include a new crafting system, water and climbing mechanics, improved taming of creatures, and the ability to forge stronger bonds with them. The game will utilize Unreal Engine 5, which is expected to bring more detailed environments, better visual effects, and more diverse spaces for exploration.
In addition to solo play, players will be able to build outposts, connect distant lands through trade routes, and develop networks that aid in the survival of their people.
