Despite frequent pessimistic forecasts, layoffs, and increasingly expensive game production, Sony assures that the gaming industry is not facing dark days. Shawne Benson, head of the third-party portfolio at PlayStation, stated that what is coming in the next few years is incredibly positive, especially regarding yet-to-be-announced projects.
Benson believes that the industry is in a challenging but exciting period, with a large number of games yet to be presented to the public. Such a statement comes at a time when gaming is often associated with crises, delays, and studio closures, but Sony clearly believes that a very strong wave of new titles is being prepared behind the scenes.
