Capcom has confirmed that Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be released on September 25, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Pre-orders are already open, and players can now download a free demo.
The demo version allows for the first concrete encounter with the game's action system, exploration of the historical temple Kiyomizu-dera, and combat against Sasaki Ganryu, the fateful rival of Miyamoto Musashi. Players who try the demo will receive a special “Kubi Akari” charm when the full version of the game is released.
Along with the release date, Capcom presented a new gameplay showcase set on Mount Oe, a new location outside Kyoto. In the latest footage, Musashi fights his way through the Genma fortress of the enemy, while the trailer ends with a view of his transformation into an Oni warrior.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be available in Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Deluxe editions. The Standard edition will cost €79.99, the Deluxe edition €89.99, and the Premium Deluxe edition €99.99. Pre-orders include bonuses such as the “Sealed Curse” sword appearance and the “Lion Dog” charm.
