Giant Games has announced the global launch of the game Tomb Busters, a cooperative horror looter title set to arrive on PC, iOS, and Android on May 27, 2026. Pre-registrations are already open on mobile platforms, and the game will support cross-play, meaning that PC and mobile players will be able to play together.
Tomb Busters has already achieved great success in China, with over 200 million downloads, 10 million daily active players, and a huge presence on social media. The global release will attempt to combine a horror atmosphere, extraction gameplay, and comedic situations that arise when playing with friends.
Players take on the role of tomb raiders working for The Supernatural Company, exploring tombs filled with deadly traps and creatures inspired by Chinese folklore. Among the threats are the Ghost Bride, who can only be seen and heard by one player, and the Puppet, a doll that moves only when no one is looking at it.
Players can enter tombs solo or in a team of up to four players, with a choice of characters featuring different roles and play styles. As players delve deeper, the dangers increase, and death means losing everything they have collected. Additional unpredictability is brought by weather events such as thick fog, solar eclipses, and a blood moon.
Tomb Busters also features an unusual monster-catching system using gourds, including demonic groundhogs that can be used to search for supplies. While the game emphasizes horror, Giant Games highlights that chaotic humor arising in the company of friends is equally important.
