After the first preview that focused on cozy and more relaxed games, the second SGF 2026 article brings a different selection of announcements from the packed June schedule. This time, the focus is on rhythmic horror, unusual adventures, detective mysteries, surreal puzzles, and a political spy thriller where the player does not directly control the agent but guides them from the background.
Wicked Delights
Hiding Spot Games, a studio known for the game Beacon Pines, has announced Wicked Delights, a rhythmic horror for PC via Steam. The release date has not yet been announced.
The story is set in the early 2010s and follows Ander and her father Marcel, who run a struggling video store. The problem arises when characters from an old VHS tape start coming into the real world. The game combines supernatural mystery, rhythmic challenges, anime battles, retro science fiction, a sitcom café atmosphere, and a camp-horror approach. According to the announcement, solving the unusual chaos will take place through large rhythmic segments.
Danchi Days
Danchi Days is set to release in October 2026 for PC and Mac via Steam. The game is published by Analgesic Productions, while sandy powder, Melos Han-Tani, mogumu, and gingham games are working on its development.
This is a slice-of-life adventure where a girl named Hoshino tries to revive a forgotten summer festival to cheer up her grandmother. Players will explore a Japanese apartment complex, meet neighbors, surf their unusual websites, and participate in various mini-games. Although it may seem bright and playful at first glance, Danchi Days also touches on heavier themes such as aging, dementia, loneliness, and community living.
The Mermaid Mask
SFB Games has confirmed that The Mermaid Mask will be released on July 16, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. A demo version is available on PC.
The Mermaid Mask is the successor to the game Tangle Tower and once again follows detective Grimoire and his sharp assistant Sally. This time they investigate the death of Captain Magnus Mortuge, found in a locked room on an unusual submarine. The game features hand-animated characters, fully voiced suspects, layered puzzles, and a blend of darker themes with lighter British humor.
Servant of the Lake
Rusty Lake has announced that Servant of the Lake will be released on August 13, 2026, for PC via Steam and itch.io, iOS, and Android.
The new premium point-and-click adventure returns players to the recognizable strange world of Rusty Lake. The story is set in the Vanderboom family house, where the player takes on the role of a servant responsible for daily household chores, welcoming guests, and ensuring the comfort of the residents. Of course, in Rusty Lake, neither laundry nor straightening family portraits remains a mundane task, so everything quickly turns into surreal puzzles, alchemical experiments, and a dark family story set decades before the game Rusty Lake: Roots.
Burn-9
14 Hours Productions has announced Burn-9, a political spy thriller for PC via Steam, GOG, and Humble Store. The game is expected to be released during 2026, and a demo is already available.
Burn-9 is described as a "tactical radio action" inspired by the games of Hideo Kojima and Tom Clancy. The player is not an agent in the field, but an operator who guides the last surviving member of an elite team through a mission that has gone wrong from the background. The key will be gathering information, hacking systems, monitoring cameras, opening locked doors, and deciding which data to share with the agent and which to keep to themselves.
